Eclipse nodded his muzzle, raising it slightly to look up at the canpoy of trees as their leaves danced in the slightly biting breeze. Winter was fading giving way to Fall weather, that would soon bright about warm Spring days. Summer would be the turning point when everthing got hot once more and faded into cold Winter once more. Yet, as he lowered his gaze once more and let it slowly drift around the forest and Kait before him, he was content.
"Even so . . . . This place is slightly hollow without the howls of wolves in its forests," he stated, rising to his paws. "But hopefully with the hunts dying down and less and less wolves being caught, the Hunters will stop and wolves will return," he wondered allowed, lifting his gaze once more, turning his muzzle toward the snow-capped peak of Shadow Moon Peak.
His mind danced with memories of long ago, when he had been a pup and the old Hunter had let him run the forest, training him in the ancient art of hunting. Dancing images of watching his wilder breathern running free had made his heart ache, yet it had been that fateful night, when he had first changed, that Eclipse had truely experienced freedom. Yet, as he stood there, among the fallen trees and leaves of the forest, with Kait saying how beautiful everything was, he couldn't help but try to see it through her eyes. How it must look to someone who had never seen it before.

Kait found a heavy sigh escape her muzzle, allowing herself to speak blunt truth for once in her life. Not something she made a habit of.
"This place is like paradise for me...Unlike you, I've never known anything close to a pack, in fact, you're the first wolf I have come across in the four years I've been one. To think...that I may have to...leave it brings me great pain. If you were trying to re-build the life that once thrived here, I would be honored to help you,"
Falling silent after her little speech, Kait pressed her head into her paws, neon green eyes staring stiffly toward the ground, waiting for his response.

Standing, head slightly tipped back, muzzle raised in homage to the dark sky overhead, Eclipse almost missed hearing her offering, but caught the tail end of it, mentally speaking. As he lowered his head, allowing his honey/golden gaze to fall upon the dark brown shewolf, he felt his lips pull back in a wolfish snarl.
So, she had been bitten and turned . . . Not born like himself. The snarl slowly died as he was sure she would take it differently than what he meant it. "My experience with made wolves are far and few, so you will have to forigve me. Past experiences have led me to believe that you are mentally unable to handle the stress of werewolf life . . . . . But I am willing to give you the chance to prove my past experiences wrong," he growled, lowering his head to the shewolf. It was the closest she would get to an acceptance into the pack that he had once watched rule this land.
He stood there, watching her, wondering how it was that for four years she had survived as a bitten werewolf and who had shown her the way to his forest. There had only been two other bitten werewolves and one hac been killed the other day by a hunter, while Eclipse himself had had to despose of the second when it had gone into Eden Town in full fur and tried to kill the humans. He would watch Kaitlyn Moore very carefully.

Hearing the first rising notes of a low and dangerous growl rising in Eclipse's throat, Kait's ears pulled back, muscles clenching and fur bristling automatically, taking up a natural stance of defense without thinking, taking a few moments to relax even after the growl had been silenced, a look of careful wonder crossing her face, until the penny dropped. Ah. Perhaps bitten werewolves had a bit of a reputation. But she would do all she could to change his mind; not all bitten werewolves were like that.
"I have handled the life of a werewolf for four years in the city just fine, thank you," She said with a steely tone, eyes narrowing, tailing flicking agitatedly, before closing her eyes and counting to ten, her usual method of meditation. Opening them again, she allowed herself a further few seconds to calm herself, listening to the end of his speech.
"I am eternally grateful, and I promise I shall prove myself just as capable as a born werewolf," She spoke with utter sincerity, allowing a slight smile to curve her lips as an offering of friendship. They had gotten off to a slightly odd start, but if they were to be creating a pack, they would need to form some form of friendship.

Eclipse nodded his head, happy that there would be another wolf added to his slightly and slowly growing pack. Plus, with Kaitlyn's joining, he would be able to have a female wolf's teaching for little Eric. Grunting, he turned from her and dropped his nose to the ground, sniffing at the ground.
"There is a pup . . . Back in town. His father was once a good friend of mine, but now the pup is being taught by me, but he's missing a lot of stuff that a female could teach him. His mother is human, and is unable to be around him while he is a wolf and unable to teach him our ways. If you were willing to help with his training?" he said, lifting his head once more, glancing at her.

Eclipse's words caught her off guard, causing her to blink a few times, processing them in her head, not quite catching their meaning first time round. Kait had never really thought about the pups side of things in her time as a werewolf, concentrating mostly on just basic survival and hunting. But even in her youth, Kait had always had what some would call 'the maternal instinct'. Whether it be toward friends or family, she was the mother hen. So the chance to teach a pup was one she could not turn down.
"I would be honored to," She spoke with a warm smile, instantly feeling her spirits lift higher. In just the mere rise and fall of a moon, her life had made a turn for the better, and the impending dawn held nothing but glory in her eyes.

Eclipse grinned as much as a wolf could and dipped his head. "Then we should start heading to the house. By the time we get there, it will already be sunrise and Katie will be ticked if we wake up her neighbors," he snorted, shaking his head as he turned from her and started back the way they came. A full out run could wait until the few remaining pack members could join them, right now, he wanted her to meet Eric, hopefully changing the little boy's mind to join the pack.
With a glance over his shoulder, he wagged his fluffy, gray and black tipped plume at her, and invitiation to follow him. Then, with a roll of his shoudlers, he started padding off, a slight bounce to his step as only wolves could have when they were in a better mood than they had started off in.

Jaws falling open in a grin, Kait followed quickly, paws making barely a sound on the cold earth, eyes following the first traces of a golden sunrise on the horizon, before moving to give a last longing gaze to the fast disappearing moon behind her, heralding the start of a new day. Her landlord and neighbors would definitely think her disappearance a little odd, but knowing that area, they would come up with some reason; either sordid or downright crazy. And believe it. They could believe whatever they liked, she doubted it would be even a patch on the real reason.
(Sorry about the shortness. Shall we move to the house now?)
